WhatsApp is a direct iPhone-2-iPhone messenger chat application. WhatsApp allows you to carry on a conversation in real time with your contacts without having to pay for SMS.
In addition to chat there is a “Status” feature, thanks to which you and your friends will always know what’s up and how to best get in touch.
And with iPhone Push Notifications, WhatsApp can even let you know when your contact’s status changes and what they are up to.
Now thats cool !! .. its exactly like bbm !! and it will add contacts automatically !! iphone is attacking bb !!

Try the “Ping” app! its much better and has a more modern look than the WhatsApp!

their is many apps like BBM for iPhone not just one :)
1- Ping
2- Whats app

JBM : Ping! is a similar app , and just like Blekh have said, you need to know the other persons phone number or have him in your contacts in order to communicate with him using Whats App.
Ping! is a better alternative to the BBM right now , and it’s improving by time to include features like “broadcasting messages, Sending Files, Sharing locations, and more… “
